What we were making/doing:

Drawing! In school we don't get a chance to really learn about the skill of drawing properly or worse still told that we can't draw. We were focussing on confidence in mark making and the art of looking and describing what we can see using drawing. At art club we believe in empowering young kids with real education taught at art schools which will give them a head start to understanding visual art. We did excersises such as quick drawing, drawing without looking, drawing without taking the pencil off the page and more!

What we learnt:

Through trying out lots of different drawing activities we learnt that everyone can draw! We learnt about perspective, capturing an image quickly, looking, size and scale, how to isolate and negative space. We learnt that drawing is not just about getting a pencil and copying something, it's a way of thinking about the world around us in a visual manner. It can improve our ability to balance images, create other artworks and designs
